Where have you been for recent visits?
How did the visit at Northwestern go?
Northwestern, for me, was a really great experience and I thought the coaching staff did a great job emphasizing things, not just football related, but life skills, things I wish I would have known when I was younger.
What was your impression of the campus? I know it's a little more urban than some of the other places you've been, did you like that and what did you think of the gameday atmosphere?
A little more urban, like you said. Evanston is right by Chicago, right on the lake. It's really a pretty sight there. The feel was exciting. The field is nice. They have a nice stadium. The gameday feel of the place was very top notch. It was really outstanding to see how many people were excited about Northwestern football."
And Illinois, how did that visit go, and what did you think of the campus and experience there?
I had a great time talking to Coach Banks, my area recruiting coordinator for Indianapolis. They put emphasis on academics. They have an actual chaplain on staff there and that separates them from other Big Ten schools. I go to a Christian school, so it's neat to see a public university with that, the emphasis on things that go into play off the field. It was great to see how they spend hours of days in preparation for game day. They have a nutritionist on staff, which was neat.
Did the coaches at either school talk to you about their interest level or where you stand with them?
The coaches at Northwestern invited us up for bowl practice. Coach Banks said he was interested in coming up to my school. He was excited because he is responsible for recruiting one of the other players at my school, Anthony Warrum, so he's interested in Heritage. He showed a lot of interest in getting material from me. I think that they are really interested. The awesome thing about Illinois is the fact that anyone who plays there gets to be coached under Luke Butkus. They have amazing tradition, and that's what I alawys liked about the Big Ten, the sense of tradition at every school, and the Butkus family has a very illustrious history with football.
Do you have any other visits planned?
"Right now, I don't have anything scheulded, just getting into the offseason, and getting training in.
