Clark Relieved By First Offer

The Indiana Hoosiers extended an offer to one of the top juniors in their home state on Friday, as Fort Wayne South Side cornerback Donovan Clark received the good news.

A dynamic athlete who has played on both sides of the ball, Donovan Clark has been receiving college interest for a few months now, but his recruitment took a big step forward when he picked up his first offer from Indiana on Friday.

"It feels great," he said. "It feels like a big weight off my shoulders. I'm just ready to keep working hard and keeping down what I did to get the Hoosiers' attention."

Throughout this early part of his recruitment, Clark has visited Indiana and gotten to know the coaches. That has given him a good feel for the school.

"I liked them a lot. They're family oriented, close to home and me and Coach Shelby, their defensive backs coach, had a great connection."

Having just visited Iowa, Clark says over the next few months, he is hoping to get out and see a few more schools.

"I was thinking about going to Bowling Green next weekend, but I'll also be visiting Michigan and Michigan State for sure."

And in the end, the first offer is exciting, but that does not mean he plans to make any quick decisions.

"Most likely after the regular season," he said of a commitment. "I would like to see some of the colleges in action first to make sure what they are saying is true and showing on the field. Since I started the process so late, my decision will be a little delayed." Recommended Stories
