PREVIEW 2014: Chatard Trojans
Chatard has been one of the state’s most successful programs. Last season the Trojans went 9-4. For most teams that would be fine, but expectations for Coach Vince Lorenzano and the Trojans is much higher. Chatard will have to replace some solid football players such as: Henry Hill, Stan Jackson, Sam Cleaves, and Alex Kimack
Versatile athlete Brian Ball played receiver last season. Will he stay at QB or move to the vacated QB spot.
Junior linemen David Schroeder and Danny Godlevske will be household names the next few years.
SCOUTING THE: TROJANS POSITION BY POSITION
Sam Cleaves will need to be replaced. Will senior Brian Ball move from receiver? Will junior Lewis Dilts compete of will sophomores John Dietrick and Billy Dury step up?
Standout running back Alex Kimck (University of Indianapolis) has graduated. Juniors Matt Haley and Brian Hannon are in line to compete for the feature role in the Trojan offense.
Brian Ball caught 22 receptions for 302 yards last season. Will he stay at receiver? Senior Brooks Hepp also returns. Standout TE Henry Hill (Air Force) will need to be replaced.
Big Ten recruits Matt McCann (Purdue) and Adam Solomon (Illinois) lead a very talented group. Juniors David Schroeder, Danny Godleveske, Jared Penry, and Collin Noll will join senior James Warren and sophomore Ben Solomon in a loaded offensive line.
Senior DE Max Fillenwarth is the lone returnee up front.
Seniors Anthony LaRose and Noah Schrader return at linebacker in the Trojans 4-3 alignment.
Graduation wiped out the entire secondary. You may see these names logging time here in seniors Brian Hannon, Marlin Bunnell, Brian Ball and Brooks Hepp.
The Trojans will not change their formula. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it. Chatard will continue to run the ball and why not with Adam Solomon and Matt McCann leading a huge offensive line. Key will someone stepping up at the running back spot.
