2014:Decatur Central Hawks

Hoosier recruit Tommy Stevens leads explosive Hawks Offense.

PREVIEW 2014: Decatur Central Hawks

The Hawks in posting their 5-5 record put up arena football league like numbers on both offense and unfortunately on defense. Coach Justin Dixson has a great group of core players returning on offense to burn out scoreboard lights. The million dollar question is can the Hawks tackles anyone?

STANDOUT

The state’s highest rated quarterback Tommy Stevens returns. The prize 2015 recruit for Kevin Wilson and the IU Hoosiers threw for 1526 yards and also rushed for over 1,000 yards.

BREAKOUT PLAYER

Senior Dakota Sidwell rushed for 529 yards last season. He should put up even bigger this year.

TOP UNDERCLASSMEN

Class of 2016 OL Trent Maynard has offers from coast to coast. He is battling for top overall honors in the class of 2016.

SCOUTING THE: HAWKS POSITION BY POSITION

QUARTERBACK
The previously mentioned Stevens should again put up huge numbers. He has great size at 6-4 and 190.

RUNNING BACK

Dakota Sidwell will lead the backfield with help from senior Bryan Wells.

RECEIVERS

Stevens has some veterans returning to throw to in Ryker Stout (39 receptions) and Connor Ray (12 receptions)

OFFENSIVE LINE

If you are going to have only one experienced hand back you might as well have a standout like Trent Maynard returning. The Hawks will have to replace highly regarded Louisville Recruit Lukayus McNeil.

DEFENSIVE LINE

Someone or should I say anyone needs to step up from a defense that gave up 39 points per game.

LINEBACKERS

The Hawks return three starters in Ryan Harrison, John Sidwell and James Harris.

DEFENSIVE BACKS

The Hawks leading returning tackler is Bryan Wells.
OUTLOOK:

If the Hawks can tackles anyone they are sure to up their win total from a year ago. The offense again should be explosive led by quarterback Tommy Stevens.
