Some players were willing to forgo sunshine and sand to back pedal, make a cut, and catch footballs for two days. Last year at the New Level 7 on 7 tournament football fortunes rose and those with talent were discovered in the midst of tough competition. Several said it was where Morgan Newton impressed all who watched with his ability to throw, he was rewarded with an opportunity to go to school and play for the University of Kentucky.
Several Indiana players were invited some could not get away to practice (basketball championships) others didn’t respond at all, but in the words of coach Greg Brooksey, “We have compiled a talented group.” They have been practicing two times a week. The competition will bring together teams from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio. A champion from the Midwest will be crowned on Sunday, March 29th.
The following players are listed as “Team Indiana” and will compete in Columbus Ohio on March 28th and 29th at the New Level 7 on 7 “Best in the Midwest” Tournament.
