Harding Head Coach Sherwood Haydock reported that his star running back Roderick Smith 6-3 220lb has been offered by Tennessee. Smith who is arguably one of the top running backs not only in Indiana but in the country has stirred a great amount of interest this spring.

The big running back has starred for Harding since his freshman year and if he has the type of year expected Smith could break some state football records. Smith’s three-year totals as a running back at Harding are astounding. During his three-year career Smith has collected 5,285 yards on the ground. Haydock said this was the first offer from the South and it probably won’t be the last.

Offers have been extended from Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa and Purdue.
